Best Screenplay:

Curtis Hanson and Brian Helgeland – L.A. Confidential

 

Best Cast:

Best Cinematography:

Dante Spinotti – L.A. Confidential

 

Best Documentary Film:

Fast, Cheap & Out of Control

 

Best Foreign Language Film:

Shall we dansu? (Shall We Dance?) – Japan

 

Pauline Kael Breakout Award:

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon (writers-actors) – Good Will Hunting

 

Golden Orange for Outstanding Contribution to Film:

Victor Nunez (director-writer), Ulee’s Gold, for his consistent — and consistently intelligent — approach to Florida themes for nearly two decades.
