Luis “Bond” Alvarez is a film critic and filmmaker from Caracas, currently based in Miami. He has been writing film and TV criticism since 2011 for newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, and websites. A founding member of the Círculo de Críticos Cinematográficos de Caracas and a Tomatometer-approved critic by Rotten Tomatoes, he writes a weekly column for Diario las Américas, where he reviews films and series and conducts interviews. In addition to his work as a critic, Luis is also a director, screenwriter, and editor, and has been a college professor since 2008, specializing in screenwriting, directing, mythology, symbolism, archetypes, and character development. He has also trained in Deep Analytical Psychology and Symbology. His reviews often focus on technical aspects of filmmaking, screenplay analysis, character psychology, and symbolic image amplification.
